Umicore’s Battery Materials business in Korea (UBM in Korea) has donated KRW 20 million (EUR 13,577) to ChildFund Korea’s Chungnam Chapter to provide heating, essential supplies and food for children in need in the South Chungcheong Province.

Since 2009 UBM in Korea has been supporting children in South Chungcheong to ensure they stay warm throughout the winter. The company also volunteers at child welfare centers in Cheonan providing and delivering lunch boxes and offering various forms of support to children facing psychological challenges.

More recently, UBM employees in Korea initiated environmental education and gardening activities at the Chaam Elementary School in Cheonan. UBM also conducted a plogging campaign at the Sandongcheon area to foster a healthy environment for students.

“For the past 14 years, UBM in Korea has been dedicated to supporting our community through various initiatives and this donation will help provide the essentials to support children and their wellbeing through the winter season. We are committed to continuing our corporate social responsibility by engaging in sustainable social contribution activities and fostering a strong partnership with the local community.”
